NEW IN! - Limited Edition Risograph Calendar from Lena Kassicieh (.kassicieh)

Lena Kassicieh is a Palestinian-American anthropologist, ceramicist, and multidisciplinary artist based in Dubai. Created in collaboration with Palestinian photographer and video producer Alaa Al Sadi (), this Limited Edition Risograph calendar brings together 12 idioms from across the Arabic-speaking world; each one, a testament to the language’s creativity, cultural expression, and shared wisdom. In removing geographical markers, we honor Arabic as a living entity that transcends imposed borders moving through dialects and communities.

Every month features a hand drawn illustration, printed using a Risograph machine, where colours are layered to create depth and enrich texture. Each calendar is unique, showing the subtle organic variations that come with analogue printing.

BACK IN STOCK 📖 Hello Future - Farah Al Qasimi (), Published by Capricious Publishing ()💫

Shortlisted for 2021 Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation
PhotoBook Awards, the 300 pages photobook is the culmination of Farah Al Qasimi’s photographic, performance and film practice, unified within her keen focus on surface and texture, and the revealing visual influences of the splashy and florid.

This monograph includes an essay by Negar Azimi() and a conversation between Al Qasimi and artist Meriem Bennani ()

Farah Al Qasimi makes photographs, films and music. Often working with large-scale vinyl imagery and a multiplicity of photographic prints and screens, she is interested in the internet and its hierarchies of information and emotion. Al Qasimi loves the complexity of storytelling and value-building in children’s cartoons, and many of her video works include primary narrators who are anthropomorphized.

Sad Sack is a book of collected writing by Sophia Al-Maria(), taking feminist inspiration from Ursula K. Le Guin’s 1986 essay ‘The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction’; opposing ‘the linear, progressive, Time’s-(killing)-arrow mode of the Techno-Heroic.’ Encompassing more than a decade of work, Sad Sack tracks Al-Maria’s speculative journey as a writer, from the first seed of her ‘premature’ memoir, through the coining and subsequent critique of ‘Gulf Futurism’, towards experiments in gathering, containing, welling up and sucking dry.

Published by Book Works, London ()

Sophia Al-Maria (b.1983, Tacoma, USA) is a Qatari-American artist, writer, and filmmaker whose multidisciplinary practice—spanning drawing, sculpture, video, performance, and experimental film—harnesses the power of storytelling and myth, weaving revisionist histories centered on marginalized perspectives.
