In light of the recent earthquakes in Afghanistan, especially in Kunar, we feel a strong responsibility to support the communities we serve. 🌍✨

To contribute, we are organizing a one-hour webinar on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) with a special focus on earthquake preparedness. The goal is to share practical knowledge and equip attendees with skills that could save lives.

🔐 CEI Hosts an Inspiring Webinar on Cybersecurity Awareness

In today’s interconnected world, cybersecurity is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Recognizing the growing risks faced by individuals, organizations, and communities, the Community Empowerment Initiative (CEI) was honored to host a thought-provoking Webinar on Cybersecurity Awareness, led by Dr. Rohani Rohan.

Dr. Rohan, a distinguished scholar with a Ph.D. in IT (specializing in Information Security), guided participants through an engaging session that blended global insights with practical solutions. His presentation shed light on the realities of the digital age—where opportunity and risk go hand in hand—and emphasized the shared responsibility we all have in safeguarding our online presence.

The webinar explored critical themes, including:

✨ The motivations behind cyberattacks and lessons from real-world cases
✨ Common attack methods such as phishing, ransomware, and insider threats
✨ Practical steps organizations can take to strengthen cybersecurity

✨ Addressing cyberbullying and promoting safe online interactions
✨ Everyday practices for protection: password security, two-factor authentication, and safe use of social media, email, and internet platforms
✨ Recognizing and preventing online scams and fraud

We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by the devastating earthquake in Kunar Province. 💔

Hundreds have lost their lives, and many more are injured. CEI volunteers are on the ground in Kunar, ready to deliver aid directly to the affected communities.

CEI team joined the Training of Trainers on the improved data collection tools for the Afghanistan Community Voices and Accountability Platform, organized by the AAP Working Group with support from REACH.

For us, accountability is more than a policy—it’s about truly listening to people, valuing their voices, and making sure their needs shape the way we respond. The updated tools will help all partners, including CEI, collect feedback in a way that is more inclusive, practical, and transparent.

We’re grateful to UNFPA and the AAP Working Group for bringing partners together and for leading this important step. Every improvement we make in how we gather and act on feedback is a step toward building trust, dignity, and stronger relationships with the communities we serve.
