The former head of Armenia’s State Property Management Department, Arman Sahakyan, has been detained for two months.
Sahakyan was arrested in April of this year as part of a criminal investigation into allegations of giving and receiving election bribes.

While a Swiss court is trying to freeze millions of dollars in the Magnitsky case, some of that money has ended up in Armenia.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has recorded that a Russian businessman under sanctions, Denis Katsyv, managed to withdraw about 6.5 million francs from Swiss banks in February 2026 and move them to Israel and Armenia. The Assembly discussed how a mistake by the Swiss courts allowed Denis Katsyv to move his money out of that country.

Russia is introducing temporary restrictions on the import of crops, potatoes, dried and stone fruits of Armenian origin as of June 3.
Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia’s agricultural safety watchdog, also announced that the transit of these goods to the EAEU member states is also limited due to the lack of mechanisms for confirming the receipt of quarantine goods by these countries.
