Recently we talked about who AMA masterclasses are ideal for and we believe that it would be fair if we answer the question, why should you choose AMA Masterclasses?

1. Qualified professors
To work with musicians, we have invited professors with major experience:
- Jean-Bernard Pommier, piano
- Olga Martinova, violin
Thanks to this, each of them will be able to give clear advice to each participant in the allotted time and share a particle of their professionalism.

2. Longer lesson times
During our masterclasses, lessons will be 90 min. each. In most masterclasses of this level, this is around 45-60 min.

3. Extensive organization experience
We have been organizing a large number of concerts and masterclasses, so we understand what details to pay attention to and how to make your training and participation as productive and comfortable as possible.

4. Location
Vienna is a city where you get inspired. A city in which every corner is saturated with the classics! Here you can meet a large number of like-minded people and have a good time. Also, you can get here by any transport convenient for you - plane, train, car.

5. Programs and price
We have different programs - solo, chamber music and both. Everyone can choose what is more important. Also, our masterclasses are affordable for students and young professionals.

You can find more information in the pinned stories or the link in the profile header. If you have any questions, write your questions in the comments, we will be happy to answer them!

Today we want to inform you about the experience of Prof. Pommier and how he started masterclasses for young musicians.

The world renowned French pianist and conductor Jean-Bernard Pommier has experienced firsthand how valuable an academy environment is to young musicians. Due to personal connections, he was able to profit from direct exposure to artists like Pablo Casals, Mieczyslaw Horszowski, Roberto Casadesus and others from an extremely young age. After becoming a laureate at age seventeen of the Tchaikovsky competition, he benefited from direct involvement with Eugene Istomin, Rudolf Serkin, Alexander Schneider, Isaac Stern, Pinchas Zukerman and conductors such as Herbert von Karajan and Sergiu Celibidache. Although in his case these contacts materialized through happenstance and were not formally organized, Pommier immediately recognized the need for a young performing artist to be involved with and guided by great artists. He now takes this role upon himself by sharing the stage with young musicians and preserving the artistic tradition that he forms a part of.

Our masterclasses started in 2019 in the south of France, where Pommier organized within his festival Piano Prestige the first additional Academy program. The same participants have returned every three months for an Academy session, which allows for a longer apprenticeship and sufficient time between each session to develop new repertoire. The Academy normally consists of piano and violin solo, as well as chamber music sessions for ensembles ranging from duos to quintets.

We are proud to present the eleventh edition of this project, taking place in Vienna for the second time, and opening the doors for young professionals in Austria to benefit from the vast amount of knowledge and experience of Olga Martinova and Jean-Bernard Pommier in addition to the performance opportunities.
