Ustad Noor Bakhsh at Roots Stage on 21 July

Roots Stage is honored to welcome Ustad Noor Bakhsh, one of the most remarkable musicians of the Makran Coast of Balochistan, for a rare concert in Vienna.

For this special evening, Noor Bakhsh and his fellow musicians Doshambay Sabir and Daniyal Ahmed will present a unique repertoire curated especially for Roots Stage and performed publicly for the very first time. Alongside the powerful instrumental music for which Noor Bakhsh has become internationally known, the program will offer a glimpse into more personal aspects of his musical journey, drawing on memories, influences, and pieces that have accompanied him throughout his life.

Following the concert, audiences are invited to remain for a special on-stage conversation with the artists. This intimate exchange offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from Ustad Noor Bakhsh, Doshambay, and Daniyal about their lives, stories, musical inspirations, and the traditions that have shaped their art.
