🏆 BFW SPEED EDITION — SEASON PRESENTATION NIGHT 🏆

After the chaos of Jingle Gels wrapped up, a bunch of us headed over to the White Horse Inn to celebrate the end of the BFW Speed Edition season. 🍻

It was a chance to relax, hand out some awards, recognise the people who made the season what it was, and reveal the final season leaderboard.

These teams battled it out across the whole season and earned their podium spots through consistency, teamwork, and showing up ready to compete every round. 🔫

These were voted on by the players themselves, which always makes them a bit more meaningful.

Behind every good season is a group of referees who show up month after month to make the games run smoothly.

This year we introduced the “Get Reff’d” glass awards for referees who did not miss a single game across the entire season.

These legends turned up every month and reffed every single game.

💚 A Moment I Didn’t Expect

Right at the end of the night the community surprised me with something I genuinely didn’t see coming.

They presented me with a custom shield that will now live on as a permanent community award:

“Outstanding Referee”

This is an award I now get to present at competitions I attend, recognising referees who embody the spirit of Fair Play is Fun Play.

That means it won’t just appear at the local season — I can also award it at Gel-X events and any other competitions I’m invited to help referee.

Honestly… I was blown away.

I organise and ref these events because I love the game and the community around it.
To have the players turn around and create something like this means more than I can really put into words.

So to everyone involved in putting that together — thank you.
I absolutely love it, and I’m proud that it will now be something I get to pass on to referees across the community.

Massive thanks to every player, ref, media legend, and supporter who helped make this season what it was.

🎄 JINGLE GELS — CHRISTMAS SPEEDSOFT MAYHEM 🎄

While getting ready for the upcoming season I cracked open the laptop 💻 to go through some old event stuff… and realised something.

The photos from our Jingle Gels Christmas event never actually got shared. 🤦🥴

So here they are.

This day wasn’t normal speedsoft. 🔫
Each round had Christmas rule modifiers 🎄🎁 that completely changed how the games played out.

Rounds included festive classics like:

🎸 Jingle Gel Rock
🥚 Jingle Gels Robin Laid an Egg
😈 Naughty or Nice
🦆 This Ducking Blows
🧝 Elf Off

Every round added its own twist 🔄, meaning teams had to adapt constantly instead of just playing standard lanes and gunfights.

There were ornaments flying 🎄, giant presents used as bunkers 🎁, and enough Christmas costumes 🤶🎅 to make Santa question his hiring process.
The effort people put into outfits was fantastic.

Huge shoutout to Hayden, who spent the day helping run the madness as my official Elf’er 🧝‍♂️ (RefJ helper).

Also a massive thanks to Matt from Gelball Adelaide (GBA) 📸 who spent the whole day behind the lens capturing all the colourful festive chaos you see in these photos.

And shoutout to Homie Cody, who spent the day keeping the scoreboard running 🖥️📊 while the rest of us were busy refereeing the festive battlefield.

There's some pretty cool characters in this series,
Keep your eyes out 🤩

A set of characters have been created representing the first full Mushroom Milsim squad from 2024.

But before we release these we would like to acknowledge RefJ in coming up with the idea and creating the first set featuring the members of Mushroom High Command ( Soupy, Jokerr & Shady).

And as a thank you to his vision, creativity and effort we have created a character for RefJ using the same technique.
