We received overwhelming support our No New Gas! Q&A. ✊

Over 150 people gathered to hear from a powerful delegation of Traditional Owners and frontline community leaders directly impacted by Santos gas projects.
We were honoured to listen to voices including:
-Uncle Jack Green, Garrawa Senior Elder and award-winning artist from Borroloola, NT.
-Karra Kinchela, Gomeroi Traditional Custodian from Narrabri, NSW.
-and representatives from PNG raising urgent concerns about the Papua LNG project.
We experienced the profound stories conveyed through Uncle Jack Green’s art, alongside heartfelt testimonies from all panel members about how Santos’ expansion threatens First Nations land, communities, and vital water sources across the Beetaloo Basin, Narrabri/Piliga forest, and Papua LNG regions.
Coinciding with the forum, we met with advisors from Minister Emily Bourke’s office, SATC CEO Emma Terry, and a representative for the Premier, where delegation members raised concerns about Santos’ promotion at government events.

⏩️ We call on the State government to ban fossil fuel promotion at government events and urge the Federal government to reject all new gas expansion projects impacting First Nations land.

Have you heard?? Adelaide University is considering removing the Santos name from their engineering building 🔥

Today students and staff gathered outside the Santos engineering building to call on Vice Chancellor Nicola Phillips to dump the santos name from the building.

“Adelaide University should not be promoting Santos and their dirty gas.” said CCSA Nature Camaigner and Adelaide University student Darcey McNamara. “Not to mention, this is the only building on campus with a corporation name on it.”

Darcey is one of many Adelaide University students calling on the institution to stand by their “commitments to sustainability and Indigenous communities”.

This comes off the back of a 150 person rally at the Santos AGM on Thursday, where Traditional Owners and community leaders from the frontlines of Santos gas projects spoke on the impacts to the environment, water and health of their communities.

Dr Meg Good of also spoke to ABC on the Santos’ dirty gas projects, citing a recent poll that found DemosAU polling in March that found 74 per cent of South Australians agreed or strongly agreed “gas companies like Santos should be required to pay for environmental damage caused by their operations”.

Amid this growing movement, it’s time for Adelaide University to listen to to students, staff, First Nations people, and community members and finally dump Santos from uni buildings!

As we joined Traditional Owners and allies at the Santos AGM today, We heard that Adelaide University is now considering removing the Santos name from its Petroleum Engineering Building - after more than 20 years.

The building is the only corporately named building on campus, and a university committed to "building a better future" shouldn't be lending its name and reputation to a company threatening First Nations sacred sites and our climate.

Join us on campus this Saturday! 18th of April, 12:00pm outside the Santos Petroleum Engineering building, where we will call on the Vice Chancellor Nicola Philips to Dump Santos from campus!
