Showcasing products, people and places in South Australia that can help people with disabilities lif

Today we had the most magical day. Forests, fires, marshmallows, bush walks, picnics, mushrooms and friendships. So many smiles, laughs and happy memories. Life is sweet! *access to disabled toilets good. Large open room. Bring your own toilet paper. No change table available at the chookarloo campground*

Rett Syndrome is part of the 70 diseases/syndromes of Childhood Dementia. 1 in 2800 children are affected by one of these debilitating and lethal diseases. Things need to change. Awareness is imperative, research is a game changer. Knowledge is power!!! Greta and I have been lucky enough to be involved in some media pieces this week. I’ll let you know where you can see us! Mr 11 loves camping 🏕 Greta loves being outdoors and amongst it. Unfortunately, unless I’m holding Greta’s hand or she’s tethered to me (which I rarely do unless there’s a cliff) she will run away and doesn’t understand stop or come back. She is also drawn to water like a Labrador! So, are there any caravan parks, camping grounds or outdoor spaces out there with cabin or area that suit these children with special needs? A small fenced area means that families could enjoy camping together without leaving their special kids at home. A small fence area so that kids with autism, ADHD and other disorders can spend time outdoors with other children safely and don’t bolt! A space their parents could live the “normal” life they are gagging for, for just a few nights. Let me know if you know of any. I’d love to visit them! ⛺️ 🍻 🌲 🍷 🔥
