Here’s some more progress in Mount Martha. Great team, great job and great stone.

Back from another block of work out at the Cordillo Downs woolshed and as per usual we’ve got a bit done.

This time we continued working on the western gable and in particular the left hand side of the gable. We removed a lot of damaged stone and cement mortar and replaced with a traditional lime mortar.

Looking back to this time last year things are looking up as it was ready to fall down. We are now at the stage of removing the cope stones stabilising the wall head and jacking the wall plumb. Big things to come on the next trip.

We also had a helping hand from our good friend Lachie from as we needed another pair of hands at short notice and he was keen to help. Thanks Evan for letting us have him. As usual thanks to Janet and Ant for the hospitality, Kenny and Lachie for your hard work and for the opportunity to work with you on this one.

More to come in late July.

Progress at our Mount Martha project. Here we have some completely drystone retaining walls creating some terracing down a pretty steep site and a dry look bbq and seat. This really has been great to work on so far. More to come.

Always a pleasure working with slate. Comes up a treat.

This Mount Angus sandstone retaining wall has settled in beautifully as the focal point of this beautiful garden. It has two functions, retaining the split levels of the garden but also to give an added seating area in the garden. Great design by Le Page Design on this one and great photos as always by .

Here’s some progress on our Bendigo project. Built in 1872 during the gold rush this house is truly one of a kind. All the stones were hand cut (no grinders or bridge saws here) and massive. We now are tasked with the job of repointing with lime mortar. The use of cement mortar in previous repairs has accelerated the decay of the stone so by repointing with lime mortar we’re helping preserve the history of this beautiful old home.
