ATOM Soccer Mackay guides children to understand the game, grow their skills, and play with confidence.

Many children enjoy soccer more when the game starts to make sense.

When players understand where to move, when to pass, and what they are trying to achieve, the game becomes less confusing and more enjoyable. They spend less time guessing and more time making decisions with confidence.

At ATOM, we focus on helping children understand the game, not just perform drills. Through clear coaching and age-appropriate activities, players learn why things happen on the field and how to recognise solutions for themselves.

Over time, those small moments of understanding add up. Children become more confident, more involved, and more willing to try new things because they begin to trust their own decisions.

Tiny gains. Big results.

Our Term 3 sessions are held every Monday at St Mary's Primary, Mackay.

U5–8: 3:15–4:15PM

U9–12: 4:30–5:30PM

All children are welcome.

ATOM Pick-Up Games – Football the way kids love it.

No ladders. No pressure. Just game after game of decision-making, creativity, and fun with friends.

These sessions gave players the freedom to solve problems, try new ideas, and simply enjoy playing the game.

We're excited to bring ATOM Pick-Up Games back in Term 4, 2026. If you'd like your child to join us or return for another season of football and fun, send us a message.

Parents often notice their child working hard in games but still feeling unsure about what to do.

At ATOM Soccer, we focus on helping players understand what is happening around them — space, pressure, and simple passing options.

When a child can read the game, their decisions become quicker and more confident. That is where real improvement starts.

This approach builds players who move from reacting to understanding, which leads to better performance over time.

It’s easy for players to rely on what they already do well.

During our final U9–12 session this term, what stood out was the willingness of players to commit to their non-dominant foot. It wasn’t perfect. In fact, at times it looked difficult. But no one avoided it, and no one felt out of place for still learning.

That’s where real development happens.

From the outside, it can look like players are struggling or not quite getting it. But this is the process that builds long-term confidence and control. When players only use their stronger side, they may see quick success, but over time it limits their options in the game.

By working both sides consistently, players begin to build balance, awareness, and more solutions under pressure.

This mindset—being willing to work on a weakness—is what leads to well-rounded, confident players.
