Thank you to Mackay Community Foundation for a fantastic morning honouring their 2026 grant program recipients🙏
The foundation gives so much back to our community every year and this year nearly $250k has been shared between 16 organisations👏
Safe Sleep Mackay received $11,568 towards our bus fit out. We were very proud to be able to share with those present the impact that the Mackay Community Foundation, as one of our platinum donors, has made to Safe Sleep Mackay’s goal of providing safe sleeps for our community💜
Having Michell and Wayne from AMD Automotive Services Pty Ltd make the presentation made it even more special as they been instrumental in helping us get our buses operational💜

We are currently seeking volunteers for:
🚌 Overnight Caretakers (8:00pm – 6:30am – private cabin provided)
🌙 Evening Crew (8:00pm – 10:00pm)
☀️ Morning Crew (6:30am – 8:30am)

💥Volunteer when you are available – no ongoing commitment required.
💥Training and support provided.
💥Come along, ask questions and find out how you can help provide a safe night's sleep for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

Great catching up with Cathy Sullivan from Mount Pleasant Centre to present her with a certificate of appreciation for her support with our Bosses on Buses sleepout.
Cathy was one of our local leaders who slept rough to raise awareness and funds to support homelessness in Mackay. Over $21k was raised to go towards operationalising our Safe Sleep Buses👏🙏
