Apex Racing 13

OK so that's a wrap for my first season in the Street Stocks! Holey s**t what a ride.

There's been highs and lows, broken parts and plenty of laughs. And mates. Lots of help from great mates.

Our last run was Waikerie with a freshened up stockie in the new reshell and still out of whack rear end. Knew it would be taily but had a blast anyway. Came home at the ass end of the field in 6th place to round out the weekend, and the feature was full of carnage. Huge thanks to Jacob Page for keeping my hopes alive and getting me out there. Was almost ready to pack it up a few times there....

Now it's time to leave the car alone for a bit and focus on everything else I've neglected over the last 6 months lol!

Next season we have a fresh engine build planned, new front and rear suspension and of course new panels and fresh wrap. Hopefully I can learn to keep it off the wall. Looking forward to the new season and honing in my skills.

After a few hiccups we have now received the shirt order albeit a little later in the year than we would have liked, so thanks everyone for your patience.

All machining work will be outsourced to trusted local specialists, while every engine assembly, measurement, and tolerance check will be completed in house to ensure the highest standards.

Specialising in Mazda engines, we have the knowledge, experience, and tools to build them properly. 💪

This is something we've been doing behind the scenes for the past few years, and now it's time to take the next step and offer these services more broadly.

Here at Sunline Speedway Waikerie for the very last run of the season! Had so much happening in the background with a reshell and engine stuff. Car rear end still isn't 100% but we are going out to have some fun 🤘 Full report to come!

Unfortunately our local season is done. Murray Bridge Speedway has cancelled the last event due to low numbers, then Sponsor's day the day after is also cancelled due to no track prep.

A bit disappointing after pushing super hard to finish the reshell and now fresh engine build.

It would have been nice to get some of you sponsors out for a ride in the car but apologies we can't make it happen this year.

Moving forwards, we will try to get the car done and prepped for the annual Mallala track round next weekend. After that the last one is June long weekend at Waikerie.

Will keep you all updated once the car is sorted.

ANOTHER huge weekend for the new #13 shell.

Now it was time to finish cleaning up all the little bits of the shell ready for some gloss black. Tell you what - there's so much that goes into these re-shells - respect to the guys that do this all the time!

Up with the inflatable paint booth again and thanks to Phil for spraying the black. Turned out pretty bloody good.

Given time to dry (mostly) it was time to call in the mobile House of Miracles team - huge shoutout to Anthony and Moss Bue, for their expertise and heavy lifting rig to get the cage in quite easily. They even made me up some brackets for mounting the cage in nicely. Thanks guys😎

A bit of a shuffle to get it into final position with the help of Keith and Dan and we are ready to set it in position and get the roof on.

Now it's time to finish welding the roof on, and fitting all the wiring and bits back into the cage. Thanks also to Brodie from GMHC & HDTSV for all your work and for letting me roll in and tinker on the car when ever I need.

Next step is getting the front and rear suspension etc out of the old shell, more metal bar fab work and welding, radiator pipework, fit the fuel tank and lines, then get something sorted for an engine! The list of work to do is still very long!
