It's not too late to register for our second WTBI event
We have nine speakers ready to share their Big Ideas with our wider community.
Unlike many other Rostrum events, this is not a speaking competition. It’s an opportunity for those who have put their names forward to present an idea of their own choice with a fresh perspective and bold ideas. It can be as crazy or lofty as their minds allow.
It’s also a unique opportunity for members to present in a larger venue, with access to technology, and in front of a large crowd.
This is where YOU come in… (yes, I’m talking to you…)
Come along and support our speakers, some are at the beginning of their Public Speaking careers, and others are more experienced, but all are on a journey to becoming better presenters.

Do you have a Big Idea that could change the world?
Or a compelling story that you want to shout from the rooftops?
How about a demonstration of some useful skill or some cool technology?
And finally, do you want to share it with a curious and passionate audience?
If you’ve ever had a vision of yourself on stage sharing your Big Idea, well now’s your chance.
This is NOT a competition. It’s an event where Rostrum members come together to showcase their talent in a supportive environment and at a first-class venue.
Held for the first time in 2024, this Rostrum event will showcase our most exceptional presenters and speakers. It’s intended to push your public speaking to the next level. Wouldn’t that look good on your CV?
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Deliver a captivating presentation via storytelling, a vision, or a performance
Incorporate a short video, slides, sound, lighting, and performance to support your presentation
Demonstrate preparedness by ensuring that all technology, demonstrations, and performance work seamlessly
Tips to Prepare:
* Watch some TED YouTube videos to help you plan your presentation
* Practise at your club and embrace the feedback

Do your meetings look like this? They can have more direction.
Learn how to make more sense of meeting procedures so you achieve better meeting outcomes.
If you feel like your meetings have a mind of their own and lack direction and you'd like to get them back on track, then this workshop is for you.
Formal meeting procedures are designed to ensure meetings have more focus, with the outcome being ....drumroll.... more and better decisions.
Meeting procedure can be like another language for some people but it doesn't have to be.
Next Thursday 30th, we're holding our first workshop for 2025 called Meeting Procedures Made Easy. This is exactly what you'll learn:- how to demystify meeting procedures and how to make sense of it all.
Why would you use meeting procedure you may ask? Isn't it old fashioned and out of date? The answer is a resounding NO.
Local government use meeting procedures at every meeting. So do lots of union meetings. Community groups try to use it, but often they end up being confused.
This workshop will be interactive. You'll see when, where and how to use formal procedures. But more importantly it will show you how an understanding of meeting procedure can make every meeting you attend more effective.
There's a way to run a meeting effectively and efficiently without the vocabulary of formal meeting procedure, but with great results. This workshop will show you how.
When: Thursday, January 30th, 6:15 - 8:15pm
Where: Club 34 - Cambridge Centre, corner of The Boulevard and Howtree Place, Floreat (under the Cambridge Library)
Cost: $5 cash
The workshop will be fast moving, fun and full of learning for every type of meeting you attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
