Because music by women belongs centre stage. Mirabilis Collective is a Perth-based chamber ensemble and registered charity.
We were incredibly honoured to be acknowledged this week in the Western Australian Legislative Council by the Hon Klasey Hirst MLC following our Her Sound, Her Story Wheatbelt project.
In her member statement, Klasey spoke about the impact of the project across Narrogin and Wagin, describing the concerts as “very special” and “the talk of the town that evening.”
Her Sound, Her Story brought together women from across the Wheatbelt to sing, create, and connect through music — featuring original songs co-created by local women alongside arrangements of works written by women.
To see this work recognised in Parliament is deeply meaningful for our ensemble and for the whole community that helped bring this project to life.
