Back what feels like a life time ago when I was a grease monkey slinging spanners for a living j*p crap šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µšŸš˜ cars where the centre of my universe, I was always cruising around in a skyline or a Silvia and put all my creativity into building some fun cars to drive around in.

When I left that life I also let go a little of the love i have for Japanese imports and drifting…. I didn’t feel like they had a place since I was hell bent on making something of myself with a camera

Now all these years later it feels good every now and then getting out and shooting the cars I love so much.

People talk about burnout like it’s overwhelming stress or constant exhaustion.

But for me, it felt different.

It wasn’t breaking down.

It was opening my laptop and feeling… nothing.

The ideas stopped flowing.
The excitement disappeared.
The projects I once couldn’t wait to work on started feeling like items on a checklist.

That’s the scary part.

Not the exhaustion.
The disconnection.

When your passion becomes your profession, it’s easy to spend so much time creating for everyone else that you slowly lose touch with why you started creating in the first place.

Burnout doesn’t always scream.

Sometimes it whispers.

It shows up as procrastination, frustration, lack of motivation, or that feeling of being emotionally checked out from the thing you used to love.

I’ve been learning that recovery isn’t about pushing harder.

It’s about slowing down long enough to reconnect with yourself, your creativity, and the reasons you started this journey in the first place.

If you’ve been feeling numb lately, maybe you don’t need more discipline.

Maybe you need space.

šŸŽ™ļø Has burnout ever felt more like numbness than exhaustion for you? Let me know below. šŸ‘‡
