The University Science Fiction and Fantasy Association (UniSFA) is a UWA-based club celebrating all things sci-fi and fantasy.

Swancon is Perth’s annual fan-run convention for lovers of science fiction, fantasy, horror, speculative fiction, board gaming, video gaming, cosplay, anime, art, and geek culture. This year is Swancon’s 50th Anniversary and will be the host of the 2026 Australian National Science Fiction Convention, held at Pagoda Resort & Spa in Como.

A group of UniSFAns will be attending Sunday 31 May. To attend, purchase your own entry then find some familiar faces on the day! You can discuss any particular events that you would like to attend on the UniSFA Discord server (see Linktree in bio).

There are several price options including a pay-as-you-feel for first time attendees, concession prices, and a discount for UniSFA members. DM for the discount code if you are a UniSFA member.

It's AGM time!! Come on down to the Guild Council Room on Monday the 9th March at 1pm to see how our wonderful club is doing and to vote on important club matters, like our committee!!

The positions and what they do are as follows:
President
- the leader and the face of the club!
- coordinates and supervises the activities of the rest of committee
- carries out club policy
- chairs committee and general meetings

Fresher Representative
- must be an ordinary member for the first time in 2026
- works to ensure that the club is a welcoming space for new students and members, and coordinates events in their interest

Vice President
- deputy leader of the club!!!
- assists the president where possible, including taking on their duties if the President is unavailable
- supervises and delegates event organisation

Librarian
- maintains UniSFA's extensive library of books, including the catalogue and borrowing record, and ensures people are following the rules relating to it
- works to expand or update the library in line with the interests of members

Secretary
- makes a lot of posts, so many posts
- records club proceedings and takes minutes at meetings, making sure they are available to the club
- keeps records of the club's memberships and correspondence, and provides the Guild with information if requested

Treasurer
- keeps the club's books, ensuring we have an accurate record of the club's finances and relevant assets
- handles cash for the club, including ensuring proper counts are done
- prepares a financial report for each annual or ordinary general meeting

Ordinary Committee Members (x3)
- helps with the overall running of the club
- may have specific roles or areas of interest. e.g. screenings, organising piffle, the social medias, etc.
