Hospitality Disability Network WA
Supporting WA Hospitality & Tourism industry to become more inclusive in their workplaces
25/04/2026
Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation. ✨
Their bravery reminds us of the values that hold our communities together — resilience, mateship, and service. ANZAC Day is not only a time to remember those who fought and fell, but also a moment to reflect on how we can carry their spirit forward in our daily lives.
🌺 Lest we forget.

A proud moment for Hospitality Disability Network ✨
Last night, our very own Kirra Donnelly officially commenced her mentorship journey as a mentee in the 2026 SKIWA Mentorship Program, kicking off at the incredible the Adnate Hotel.
The evening brought together mentors and mentees from across the tourism and hospitality industry, creating a space full of connection, energy, and opportunity.
Programs like this play such an important role in developing future leaders and strengthening a more inclusive industry.
We’re so excited to follow Kirra’s journey and see the impact this experience will have 💫

Health is more than medicine. It’s belonging. 🩺✨
Today is World Health Day, a global reminder that everyone deserves the chance to live a healthy, fulfilled life. True health isn't just about healthcare, it’s about dignity, community, and the opportunity to contribute to the world around us.
That’s why today, HDNWA is proud to launch our new campaign:
🍽️ A Place at the Table for ALL. 🍽️
This campaign addresses the significant employment barriers faced by individuals with disabilities in Western Australia. Our goal is to raise awareness about inclusive employment within the hospitality and tourism sectors, sharing stories, insights, and resources to highlight challenges and promote equitable opportunities.
Join us in pulling up another chair. Because when there is “A Place at the Table for ALL”, we all thrive.

🦁 Matilda Shines at Perth Zoo Retail!
Matilda has a passion for animals and is thriving in her customised role at the Perth Zoo retail store. She tidies, fills puppets, and shows dedication, reliability, and pride in her work.
HDNWA worked with Perth Zoo to design this role to suit Matilda’s strengths and interests, and Maxima supported her through the interview process to ensure she felt confident and prepared.
Karen, her manager, says that Matilda’s enthusiasm and initiative have made her a valued team member. Soon, she’ll receive front counter training, expanding her skills even further!
This is a perfect example of how matching the right opportunity with the right person creates success.
