The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of ophthalmologists has released an updated position statement

‘The purpose of this policy is to reconfirm RANZCO's position statement of 2018 with regard to the use of Irlen lenses for the treatment of reading difficulties. There remains no reliable evidence to support the claims that Irlen lenses are beneficial in improving reading ability.

This policy is targeted to ophthalmologists, optometrists, primary health care professionals, educators and the general public. This position statement should be read in conjunction with RANZCO's Position Statement Learning Difficulties in Children.’
