Norifumi "Norick" Abe's 1996 Yamaha YZR500 was one of the most thrilling 500cc Grand Prix machines ever built. Powered by a 160+ HP two-stroke V4 and weighing just 130 kg, it reached over 310 km/h and delivered Abe's unforgettable first premier-class victory at Suzuka.
The conditions at the Mandalika Circuit during its inaugural MotoGP in 2022 were extremely challenging, with heavy rain soaking the track and creating a dramatic wet race.
