Trademark Protection for International Companies in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a signatory to key international intellectual property frameworks, including the Paris Convention and the TRIPS Agreement administered under the World Trade Organization. This position was affirmed in the landmark case Sunil Kumar Das vs. Canon Kabushiki Kaisha (57 DLR, 2005, pp. 93–100), where the court recognized and protected a well-known foreign trademark despite the absence of registration in Bangladesh.
