☄️🔥 The Helix Nebula — The Eye of the Cosmos 🔥☄️

Roughly 650 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius shines one of the closest and most striking planetary nebulae — the Helix Nebula (NGC 7293). Often nicknamed the “Eye of God,” its appearance resembles a colossal eye staring out from deep space.

Formed when a dying star shed its outer layers, the Helix is a glimpse of our Sun’s distant future. The hot remnant at its center — a white dwarf — illuminates the surrounding gas, making the nebula glow in vibrant shades of blue, green, and red.

Stretching nearly 2.5 light-years across, this cosmic eye is both a symbol of stellar death and rebirth: while the central star fades, the expelled gas enriches space with elements that may one day form new stars and planets.

A reminder that even in endings, the universe seeds beginnings.
