B. Sc. in Data Science Program, UIU

In the Department of CSE, United International University, admissions in the B. Sc. in Data Science Program, UIU program will be open only for Fall and Spring each year, two sessions as directed by University Grants Commission (UGC). Our first batch and second batch students are already excelling in many avenues. We are amazed to see the quality of the projects done by first batch students. Bengali.AI, along with IUT Computer Society(IUTCS), is running a nationwide AI competition called "ভাষা-বিচিত্রা" (Language Variety) to find the next big talents in speech recognition for regional dialects.

Despite advancements in Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), our findings indicate limitations in current technology for accurate zero-shot and fine-tuning performance on local dialects. This challenge highlights a critical area for further research and development. This datathon targets this gap by seeking solutions that enhance ASR capabilities for diverse Bengali dialects, a language lacking extensive technological support for these regional variations.
