Why help poor people?

Because I can.

I don't have much. But I have a roof over my head, and plenty to eat. I have the love and support of family and friends, a job I like St a decent wage, and a few minor luxuries. I am grateful for the many blessings I enjoy. And fully aware that I am not always my better self. Too often we take good fortune for granted; self-assured that we have earned it. And when bad luck comes we feel as if we're being punished. Who amount is had never been mean, greedy, petty, angry, or dishonest? What do we REALLY deserve? I help because I can. And hope that should I ever need a hand, someone else will return the gesture.We are each one accident, illness, or other misfortune from financial disaster. Our lives can change in a moment. A million things, fortunately DON'T go everyday.

I give because I can. Because I'm grateful for what I have.
