World Food Programme

Our joint UNHCR–WFP high‑level donor mission, led by UNHCR Deputy High Commissioner Kelly Clements and WFP Assistant Executive Director Rania Dagash‑Kamara, has just concluded its field visit to Cox’s Bazar.

Together with senior representatives from 🇦🇺 Australia, 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇫🇷 France, 🇸🇪 Sweden, 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇬🇧 the United Kingdom, and 🇪🇺 the European Union, they met with Rohingya refugees and frontline partners, and observed how life‑saving assistance is delivered - from food assistance and nutrition services, to learning and school feeding, to protection services and skills training for women and youth.

Delegates also visited a host community, where smallholder farmers are supported with market linkage services to sell their produce at better prices and become part of the humanitarian supply chain.

We thank all partners for their continued engagement and solidarity with the Rohingya people.

The message is clear: the Rohingya crisis remains urgent - and requires collective action.

প্রতিনিধিদলটি একটি আশ্রয়দানকারী সম্প্রদায়ও পরিদর্শন করেছে, যেখানে ক্ষুদ্র কৃষকদের বাজার সংযোগ সেবার মাধ্যমে তাদের পণ্য ভালো দামে বিক্রির সুযোগ তৈরি করা হচ্ছে এবং মানবিক সহায়তার সরবরাহ ব্যবস্থার অংশ করা হচ্ছে।

রোহিঙ্গা জনগণের প্রতি অংশীদারদের অব্যাহত সম্পৃক্ততা ও সংহতির জন্য আমরা আন্তরিকভাবে কৃতজ্ঞ।

📘 Our 2025 Annual Country Report is out!

In 2025, WFP continued critical nutrition support for Rohingya and host community children and women, reaching over 200,000 people through malnutrition prevention and treatment services.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under five received specialized nutritious foods to prevent andr treat malnutrition. These services were complemented by social and behaviour change communication, alongside e-voucher based cash support to help family purchase fresh foods after attending growth monitoring sessions.

গর্ভবতী ও স্তন্যদায়ী নারী এবং পাঁচ বছরের কম বয়সী শিশুদের অপুষ্টি প্রতিরোধ ও চিকিৎসার জন্য বিশেষ পুষ্টিকর খাবার দেওয়া হয়েছে। এই পরিষেবাগুলোর পাশাপাশি, বৃদ্ধি পর্যবেক্ষণ সেশনে অংশগ্রহণের পর পরিবারগুলোকে তাজা খাবার কিনতে সাহায্য করার জন্য সামাজিক ও আচরণগত পরিবর্তনমূলক যোগাযোগ এবং ই-ভাউচার ভিত্তিক নগদ অর্থ সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

Through anticipatory action, WFP supports communities ahead of floods and cyclones, giving families the tools and resources they need to protect their homes, food, and livelihoods in advance.

With early support, families can:
* Store safe food and drinking water
* Protect livestock and essential belongings
* Strengthen shelters and prepare emergency supplies
* Avoid harmful coping strategies like skipping meals or taking on debt

We recently welcomed Hon’ble State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh, Ms. Shama Obaed Islam, to WFP operations supporting Rohingya refugees.

During her visit to Cox’s Bazar, the Hon’ble State Minister observed WFP’s food assistance programme, which reaches the entire Rohingya population of nearly 1.2 million people. The programme is fully e‑voucher‑based, enabling Rohingya families to choose from a range of dry and fresh food items at WFP food assistance outlets across the camps.

She also visited a Fresh Food Corner, which supplies seasonal vegetables and protein‑rich foods - some sourced directly from host communities in Cox’s Bazar through WFP’s aggregation centre model. With WFP's support, smallholder farmers are supported to sell their produce to both local markets and the humanitarian food assistance.

We thank the Hon’ble State Minister for her visit and for the leadership of the Government of Bangladesh in the Rohingya response. 🇧🇩



আমরা সম্প্রতি রোহিঙ্গা শরণার্থীদের সহায়তাকারী বিশ্ব খাদ্য কর্মসূচির (ডব্লিউএফপি) কার্যক্রম পরিদর্শনে বাংলাদেশ পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রী শামা ওবায়েদ ইসলামকে স্বাগত জানিয়েছি।

কক্সবাজার সফরকালে মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রী ডব্লিউএফপি-র খাদ্য সহায়তা কর্মসূচি পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন, যা প্রায় ১২ লক্ষ রোহিঙ্গা জনগোষ্ঠীর সকলের কাছে পৌঁছায়। এই কর্মসূচিটি সম্পূর্ণরূপে ই-ভাউচার ভিত্তিক, যার মাধ্যমে রোহিঙ্গা পরিবারগুলো ক্যাম্পজুড়ে অবস্থিত ডব্লিউএফপি-র খাদ্য সহায়তা কেন্দ্রগুলো থেকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের শুকনো ও তাজা খাদ্যসামগ্রী বেছে নিতে পারে।

তিনি একটি ফ্রেশ ফুড কর্নারও পরিদর্শন করেন, যা মৌসুমি শাকসবজি এবং প্রোটিন সমৃদ্ধ খাবার সরবরাহ করে। এর কিছু অংশ ডব্লিউএফপি-র অ্যাগ্রিগেশন সেন্টার মডেলের মাধ্যমে কক্সবাজারের আশ্রয়দাতা জনগোষ্ঠীর কাছ থেকে সরাসরি সংগ্রহ করা হয়। ডব্লিউএফপি-র সহায়তায় ক্ষুদ্র কৃষকরা তাদের উৎপাদিত পণ্য স্থানীয় বাজার এবং মানবিক খাদ্য সহায়তা উভয় ক্ষেত্রেই বিক্রি করতে পারেন।

আমরা মাননীয় প্রতিমন্ত্রীর এই সফরের জন্য এবং রোহিঙ্গা সংকট মোকাবিলায় বাংলাদেশ সরকারের নেতৃত্বের জন্য তাঁকে ধন্যবাদ জানাই। 🇧🇩
