Gent Cricket Club-3 kicked off their BCF Division 3 season in style with a convincing victory over Antwerp Indians CC2 at Meersen.

Batting first in their opening game of the campaign, Gent CC3 showed patience and composure throughout the innings. Captain Aman Meyakhel provided stability at the top, while Dileepa Arachchige Priyadarshana played an important middle-order knock to guide the innings forward. Valuable contributions from Zahid Durani, Jahanghir Ahmadzai, and Muhammad Abdullah Riaz helped Gent post a strong total and finish the innings with momentum.

Antwerp Indians CC2 started the chase positively but struggled to build lasting partnerships against a disciplined Gent bowling attack. Eshmatullah Huseinkhel turned the game firmly in Gent’s favour with a superb spell, consistently picking up wickets at important moments. Muhammad Abdullah Riaz bowled with great control and provided crucial breakthroughs, while Zahid Durani chipped in with key wickets to keep the pressure on.

Gent CC3 combined sharp bowling with energetic fielding to control the match from start to finish, eventually sealing an impressive 69-run win in their very first match of the season.
