This was shared by an award-winning social entrepreneur, Stacy Edgar yesterday during an entrepreneurship workshop attended by Bhutanese entrepreneurs in Thimphu. Stacy is the executive director of the International Folk Art Market based in the United States which focuses on creating economic opportunities for and with folk artists globally.

The first phase of the Concessional Credit Line under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) has been launched in Thimphu today. This credit line offers concessional loans with relaxed borrowing conditions.
The Concessional Credit Line will comprise of two funding windows:
1. The Concessional Credit Line will provide concessional loans for new ventures and scale-ups in the primary agriculture and livestock sector, Cottage and Small Industries, and medium-scale industries in production and manufacturing.
2. The Reinvigoration Fund will provide time-bound interest subsidies for eligible distressed borrowers and businesses that have the potential to recover from the setbacks caused by the pandemic.
The concessional loans will be made available through financial institutions (FIs). Interested applicants must submit their applications or proposals directly to the FIs for availing the concessional loans or reinvigoration fund.
Public announcements with information on the application process and criteria will be made in the coming days by the FIs. The application window for the concessional loan and the reinvigoration will remain open till 31st December 2024.
The second phase, covering additional sectors and priority areas, will be announced in the coming weeks.
