Today's special stage, 116.12 km long (with two passes planned), turned out to be really slow - the average speed was a maximum of 65 km/h. On some sections of the route, the average speed was even lower than 60 km/h.

According to preliminary timing data, the fastest crews on SS1A were two Toyota Gazoo Racing W2RC crews - South African Henk Lategan won, and American Seth Quintero came second. However, it later became known that they had problems with their tablets and did not respect the target start time in the Transfer Zones, resulting in both crews receiving a 4-minute penalty.

In the end, the winner of today's first special stage was Portuguese João Ferreira (Toyota Hilux IMT Evo), who was only +9.2 seconds faster than Belgian Guillaume De Mévius (Mini JCW Rally 3.0i).
