I have seen so many people in the fitness industry and others saying people don’t need these detox products,teas,herbs,flush your liver etc and do I agree with them here is my take..
People don’t need to detox IF
Your liver is healthy
Your kidneys are functioning well
You’re hydrated
You’re eating a balanced diet
then your body is constantly detoxing 24/7.
So when people say “you don’t need to detox”, they are technically correct.
Here is the argument…
People that shouldn’t loudly advocate for this are people that are:
Eating highly processed foods
Consuming excess sugar, alcohol, fried foods
Living with high cholesterol
Inactive / sedentary
Chronically stressed
Dehydrated
Low in fiber, vegetables, and antioxidants
In that state:
The liver is overworked
Fat can accumulate in the liver (fatty liver)
Cholesterol and inflammation increase
Gut health declines
Detox pathways become sluggish, not broken but very inefficient
So the issue is not that the liver can’t detox
the issue is that we overload it daily
What “detox” should actually mean (the healthy definition)
Real detox is not:
Teas that make you p**p
Starving yourself
Juice only cleanses
Extreme fasting for unprepared bodies
Real detox is support, not replacement.
Think of it like this:
You don’t fire the liver,you help it work better.
