Sambai

As the sun sets over Gales Point on December 25th and 26th, the daytime Bram revelry transitions into the nighttime Sambai celebration. Participants dance around a bonfire to the pulse of drums and traditional song. Each dancer is chosen by the one before them, with some circling the fire while others bravely dance through the flames, moving in rhythm and ritual. The night concludes with all participants joining together in a powerful circle dance around the fire.

The Sambai is a living expression of ancestry, storytelling, and communal celebration.
