Who do I work with? 🤔

I work with anyone! But I specialize in working with First Responders & Athletes. With my background in Athletic Therapy & sport combined with Physio – I have a unique background and experience to help these populations succeed.

Over the years I have worked with many Firefighters, Police Officers, Paramedics and other Front Line medical personnel.  I have combined the knowledge and information from each individual I’ve worked with with my background of working in sport to have a better understanding of the demands placed on their body and system – from physical overload to nervous system dysregulation and stress.

Let’s be real. First Responders ARE athletes.

They deserve their own level and type of care with practitioners that understand the variety of stressors put on their body.

I can offer you that type of care and understanding.

Whether you’re dealing with a new injury or you’re trying to prevent injuries.

Let me help you perform at your best and minimize injury risk.

Thank you ✨🥰

I am so humbled, honoured and damn excited to tell you that I achieved Gold level in the category of best Physio & Rehab Clinic in Airdrie Community Votes 2023.

Thank you for the nomination, thank you for the votes and all the ways you support me both here and in person. ⭐️

Being nominated as an individual practitioner in a sea of bigger businesses & clinics, some more corporate than others was something I never expected or anticipated.  To be right up there with clinics that have multiple practitioners you can vote for under one umbrella and still come out in one of the top spots, means the world to me.

I love what I do & in that I have drastically changed how I approach work over the last few years. Not only has it felt good to me, but it feels like my community of humans is feeling it too.

Congratulations to all the other winners and nominees in all categories!

Can’t wait to see what’s next! 🩵

Meet Jessie, co-founder of Bold Performance Therapy! Jessie is a dual credentialed Certified Athletic Therapist & Physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience in the field. She has degrees in Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy & Physiotherapy with consistent additional continuing education. Originally from Ontario and by way of numerous places, she now calls Calgary home.

She specializes in working with Tactical Athletes/First Responders such as Firefighters, Paramedics & Police Officers, strength athletes & athletes as a whole.

Over the years she has worked in a variety of settings and aims to bring a different perspective and approach into the realm of rehab, prevention & performance. She utilizes the evidence to provide manual therapy, exercise prescription, education and functional dry needling in practice - formulating a plan that works best for you.

She is incredibly passionate about breaking the mold of what traditional AT/Physio looks like, especially in the online space. Breaking it down to the basics & taking away the BS, the strictly business approach or the fluff behind a lot of gimmicks you run into.

Current or perspective practitioners can expect to get real-life thoughts and experience regarding what practice can look like – away from the traditional day in/out grind that is instilled in us.

As we head into winter, I have a message to practitioners in my field - whether you are brand new out of school, experienced and been around awhile or anywhere in-between please read. 🗣️

Your safety – does not get trumped by feeling pressured to go into work on a day where your commute puts you at unnecessary risk!! Read that again – your job is NOT more important than your safety!!
If you do not feel safe getting to/from work – Do. Not. Go. ⚠️

Up until just under a year ago, I would do anything and everything to get into work purely for the fear of pi***ng off my boss or angering the people booked in to see me.  I was told in varying ways and places that I just needed to find a way to get there – even when there was a higher possibility of ending up in a ditch than actually making it in. Or it was implied over the years I wasn’t good at what I did unless I made it work under any circumstances.

What I have discovered is that those people booked in – probably can’t make it either.
If they can make it – they will understand you not being able to.
If they are pi**ed – let them be pi**ed… their frustration is not more important than your safety.

🤯🤯🤯

Today is the first day where I didn’t have fear & guilt associated with cancelling and re-scheduling. After looking into the weather & talking to people who had been on the roads – I made my choice
Guess what. Everyone understood. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like having to do it and will continue to do everything I can to make it in but will no longer take unnecessary risk.

If you want to further discuss this or any other “expectations” you’re not a fan of - please send me a DM, would love to chat!

Note: I am speaking to those whom I share experiences with & not assuming things for those in other professions.
