We were making mosaic crosses at our monthly ladies art night yesterday, hosted by Kingdom Creations.
I was inspired by some digitally created stained glass renditions I found. I spent nearly 2 hours chatting away while meticulously using a ruler drawing this out and then barely 15 mins painting with watercolour. Definitely a style and concept I want to expand on and explore more!

This is a commissioned piece I completed in December for my Aunt Renee, as a gift to from my mum, and the original picture it is based on, a small little business card sized photo from the 40s. It was part of an album my late grandfather put together documenting the construction of the house he built for his family in Valois, Pointe Claire.
This photo was very special to my mum, Pamela Frick (left), and her sisters, my late aunt Joan Frick (middle) and Renee Ventris (right), and really shows each of their personalities and who they grew up to be.
The mat was customized with black foil with my grandpa David Frick's handwriting, his clever inscription, "Union Meeting, Discussing Wages & Hours".
