When anyone asks me what I’m up to for the Holidays…. Tell me you can relate! 😂
But seriously though
I’ve been processing some big things this week. End of year gets me all kinds of feelings. I remember where I was this time last year, the years before it… and today. I remember what I’ve learned and come to understand. And the things I’ve accepted I may never know. But also, have reflected big time on what I can carry over into the next year, and what should stay behind.
Here’s my short list…
✅ hope, optimism, growth, gratitude
✅ love, kindness, wonder, adventure
❌ playing small, forgetting my worth
❌ any variation of toxicity that tries to come between the rays of sunshine and sparkle that make me feel authentic
Today I want to ask…what are YOU choosing to carry over into the new year?

An absolutely beautiful week spent with the most wonderful of people. So many laughs and memories shared this week. I can’t remember a birthday like this in so…. So long. Thank you all for being the most supportive and kind and incredible souls and thanks to every single person who took a moment to make this week as special as it was

What a change a year brings. This year - school is an entirely new adventure to navigate together. In person. Online. How do you choose? What did you choose?
I am hopeful that things will fall into place as they should and that our governments and educators will reach an agreement that helps them feel safe and prepared for this new normal. I pray we don’t fall into a second wave that requires a shutdown. I worry that this will happen. That my little one’s heart will break to be away from her friends and environment once again.
The decision to return to the learning environment, as a staff member or as a parent making the decision for a child isn’t an easy one. There is no “right” answer. It’s all a domino effect. I pray for empathy, compassion and Community. That we all stay focused on why it’s important to band together and eradicate this season in our lives. Keep each other safe. Slow the spread. And get back to a healthy province and country and world.
It takes everyone working towards the same goal.

Our future. Their future. Depends on what happens next. So many things to consider in the “lessons” 2020 has brought on. .

One thing is for sure. Kindness reigns. So before you judge another or hold an opinion on why they should or shouldn’t do something. Stop. And think. Are your words kind? Is their intent kind? And if the answer is remotely close to “no” - please consider going back to the drawing board.
