Four more years! Wow. I’m honoured the people of Bridgewater have trusted me to represent them for another term.

Thank you so much to everyone who voted, along with those who took time to reach out with help or support, and to voters who simply spoke with me about their priorities for the town during this campaign.

My re-election campaign would not have been possible without the support of my wife, Melanie, and for that I am truly grateful.

I’d also like to express my appreciation to all the community-minded candidates who put their names on the ballot; I can attest it’s not easy nor for the faint of heart. Additionally, I must acknowledge councillors Tanner and Thorburne, who did not re-offer but whose service to the town was invaluable.

Last but not least, congratulations to my colleagues new and old who were elected tonight. I look forward to working with them, along with town staff and a great leader, Mayor Mitchell, to make Bridgewater an even better place to live, work and play over the course of this term.

Advance polling started this morning, October 10! Voting took me less than a minute. If you are registered, you should have received your PIN in the mail. All voting is by phone or online and you may do so at any time through Friday, October 19 at 7 pm.
If you require assistance or wish to vote at the Returning Office, you may go to 60 Pleasant Street (Town Hall) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (except between 8 and 7 on October 19). More information can be found on the town of Bridgewater website under the “Election 2024” tab.

Over the past 4 weeks I have knocked on about 1500 doors in Bridgewater and will continue that work over the next week. I wish I could reach you all. If you haven’t seen me on your doorstep, I encourage you to reach out via email as talking to residents has given me valuable information about what is important. This will enable me to better represent you over the next 4 years. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Got takeout from two places on King Street tonight. Our Main Street has new places to eat, the lowest vacancy rates in many years, and numerous storefronts being renovated (thanks in part to the town’s facade program).

I was grateful for the opportunity to meet residents at Ryan Hall today.
