We have had an amazing summer and I am excited to share that I have recovered wonderfully after my hip replacement in December and am feeling great. It was a long road with lots of turns and dead ends but I got to the end and I can honestly say it has been life changing.

With this positive progress, I am so happy to tell you that I have decided to resume my online Zoom Silver Swans classes, every Thursday, starting this Thursday, September 11th. Yay!

This quote resonated with me a lot. As a dancer I have always been very good at listening to my body and understanding how it is feeling but when you are suffering it can be hard to hear it over the constant hum of chronic pain, worry and anxiety.

Right now as I recover from surgery I am reminding myself to be kind and patient with myself and really listen to the subtle cues that the body is giving for attention. I know I am exactly where I need to be right now.

Hooray! My surgery went really well and I am doing great. Thanks so much to Dr. Lee Fruson, Alberta Hip and Knee Clinic and all the staff at Peter Lougheed Hospital.

I am 4 weeks post op and walking with just my cane and although it can be uncomfortable at times, I have no pain and I am off my pain meds. My muscles are very tight and my range of motion isn't as it was just yet but at least it is pain free! I will be back dancing before you know it!
