When a mudroom is completely open to the kitchen and main living areas, it can’t simply be functional; it needs to feel like an extension of the home.

For this young family’s home, creating a hardworking space was just as important as making it beautiful. Since this is the daily hub of the house, we designed full-height concealed locker doors to keep backpacks, jackets, sports gear, and all of life’s clutter tucked neatly out of sight. Across from the lockers, a generous storage closet provides even more space for coats and shoes.

We also incorporated a dedicated key drop and mail station, giving everything a place to land the moment you walk through the door.

Finished with marble tile flooring, warm wood accents, and unlacquered brass hardware carried through from the kitchen, this mudroom proves that practical spaces can still be every bit as beautiful as the rest of the home.

There is something so special about giving every bathroom in a home its own personality.

We started with the powder room and leaned into contrast, wrapping the space in deep, moody walls and pairing them with a custom unlacquered brass console vanity. The warmth of the brass against the dramatic backdrop, finished with a beautifully veined marble countertop, creates a space that feels both timeless and unexpected.

Upstairs, the girls’ bathroom takes on a softer feel with delicate brass detailing, classic marble surfaces, and the sweetest light pink tile in the tub/shower surround. A space designed to grow with them while still feeling playful and fun.

And downstairs, we decided to have a little fun. A soft vanity colour paired with patterned tile proves that secondary bathrooms don’t need to be an afterthought. Thoughtfully designed spaces, no matter how small, are what make a house truly feel like home.

Every custom home begins with a story, and this Mount Royal home was designed around a young family who already loved the neighbourhood they called home. Having lived on this very street, they knew exactly where they wanted to raise their two young children and envisioned a home tailored specifically to how their family lives.

From the beginning, the goal was to create a timeless home that balanced beauty with everyday function. Thoughtful architectural details, carefully considered sightlines, and spaces designed for family life can be found throughout.

The experience begins the moment you step through the front door, where three full-radius arches guide you toward the formal dining room, the main hallway, and the dramatic home library beyond.
