HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BOAT?
Perhaps you just met Skera for the first time at Medieval Faires & Artisan Markets in Millarville this past weekend. Maybe you've seen her sailing on the Glenmore Reservoir or at The Military Museums during Summer Skirmish. Perhaps you had the thrill of seeing her out on the waters of Lake Winnipeg during The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba "Islendingadagurinn" last summer.
🚣♂️🚣🚣♀️We need your help! 🚣♀️🚣🚣♂️
Our boat builders are stalled at $500 short of their fundraising goal to get Skera's sister ship underway. If you have the inclination to send even the cost of a cup of coffee toward the fundraising effort, you will have our deep gratitude, as every single dollar helps! If you are the type to save your cans and bottles for fundraising efforts such as this, send us a DM and we'll be happy to arrange pickup (in the Calgary area).

We had a great practice this afternoon, gearing up for shield wall, combat, archery and all the crafting you'll be able to see and learn about at our public shows this season. It starts with the Medieval Faires & Artisan Markets in Millarville, June 5-7.

Weather advisories altered the plans for our annual May long weekend gathering, so we took our crafting and food plans inside for a day of fellowship. Sable and Anora trimmed tunics, Alfrida prepared delicious snacks (seen here making hazelnut cookies), and Magni whipped up some rennet so we could make some cheese (we are all salivating while we wait to taste it in a few weeks' time)., while Erik worked on learning to use the drop spindle. This is just a glimpse into all that went on that day, and a glimpse at the kind of thing you can see (minus all the modern tools and conveniences) if you come see us this summer!
