A brand new summer festival is blooming in Calgary this August 🌸

For the first time ever, Deerfoot City is transforming into Calgary in Bloom, a colourful floral destination featuring over 10,000 handmade crochet flowers, creating the city’s first-ever crochet flower street.

Instead of fresh blooms, this immersive installation uses handcrafted yarn flowers to create a sustainable, everlasting garden filled with photo-worthy moments, interactive experiences, and plenty of reasons to stop and explore.

Beyond the flower street, visitors can also explore a vibrant outdoor market featuring local makers, artisans, unique brands, handcrafted goods, delicious food, and curated shopping experiences, offering something for everyone to discover and enjoy.

Meet Yvonne Sieben, the owner of Little Kitty Bag Company.
A maker inspired by creativity, community, and a beloved companion.

In her own words:
My name is Yvonne Sieben, and I am the owner of Little Kitty Bag Company.

I began by volunteering with a group that made and sold knit and crochet items. When the group eventually disbanded, I decided to continue sharing and selling the handmade pieces I love to create.

Little Kitty Bag Company was named after my cat, Boo, who recently passed away. Her memory continues to inspire the work I do today.

I primarily sell at craft fairs and the Hillhurst Flea Market, and this is my first year participating here. I’m excited to meet new people and share my handmade creations with the community.
