🇨🇭 living in 🇨🇦
I used to work out in actual gyms.
Now I train under the close supervision of a baby and a rescue dog who both have very strong opinions about my schedule….
I spent nine months thinking pregnancy workouts would help with labour.
Turns out the real benefit is being able to perform endless squat pulses with a baby in a carrier who refuses to sleep any other way.
Current technique:
carrier on,
squat pulses,
questionable form.
The burn is real.
The baby is thriving.
The client appears satisfied.
Life comes at you fast.
Turns out growing a human has consequences.
14 weeks postpartum and currently negotiating with muscles that seem to have left the group chat.
I volunteer as tribute.
14 weeks postpartum.
Current training conditions:
unpredictable sleep,
a tiny boss with unreasonable demands,
and a dog who insists on supervising every workout.
Athletic excellence may have left the building, but we’re still getting the work done.
I haven’t slept properly in months.
I haven’t watched an adult movie in even longer.
But if you need someone to perform the entire Moana soundtrack from memory, I’ve got you covered.
We all have our strengths.
Some people buy dog treats.
Some people buy beef liver and spend hours dehydrating it.
I think we’ve established which category I fall into.
13 weeks postpartum.
Trying to get back into shape while operating on sleep levels that would be considered unacceptable in most professions.
Good thing coffee is still legal.
The wellness aisle has become a very expensive social experiment honestly.
Meanwhile I’ll be over here making snacks with ingredients I can pronounce.
Can post the recipe if anyone wants it.
