“Calgary Gas Prices Plummet to $1.30/L Following Carbon Tax Removal!” 

Great news for Calgary drivers! As of April 10, 2025, gas prices have dropped to approximately $1.30 per litre, thanks to the federal government’s removal of the consumer carbon tax on April 1. This tax had previously added about 17.6 cents per litre to fuel costs. 

In the days following the tax removal, Calgary motorists observed significant reductions at the pump. On March 31, gas prices averaged around 158.9 cents per litre. By April 1, some stations were offering prices as low as 131.4 cents per litre, reflecting a decrease of over 27 cents per litre in certain areas. 

While this reduction offers immediate financial relief, it’s essential to consider the broader implications for environmental policies and climate change commitments. Balancing economic benefits with sustainable environmental strategies remains a critical discussion point.
