engaged us as their specialty engineer doing the timber connections on this one and working closely with them we were able to come up with some pretty efficient, easy to install connections on a tight timeline.

Today we send off one of our incredibly talented and thorough EIT, Shawn Fennerty.
Shawn has spent the last 3 years at Quantum Engineering doing structural design, field reviews and educating our team with his wealth of knowledge of hockey, music, & cars to name a few topics. Shawn is a deep diver, and when gets into something, he goes all in.
After fine tuning his engineering ability over his time here at Quantum, Shawn is now embarking on a new adventure and taking his passion for making music to the next level.
Shawn will be greatly missed around here, not only for his skill as an engineer, but for all that he brought to the office as a person, too! Nevertheless, the team here at Quantum Engineering wishes Shawn great success, a ton of fun & of course safety as he tours Canada sharing his musical talent.
Selfishly, we hope he'll be back after his adventure!

On Friday, Quantum Engineering reviewed the finishing touches of our longest lasting active project ever - 7 calendar years! The Parc Thompson Townhouse project in Richmond, BC got started in the design phase in 2019, with the final field review just last week, January 2026. Here's a few of the project details:

🔨 24 multi-unit buildings & Amenity Building
🏠 120 residential units
♿ 27 convertible units for in-place aging (meaning easy removal of specific floor area for future lift install)
📅 7 calendar years of design & construction field reviews
📈Challenging soil conditions and high Earthquake forces of Richmond, BC
It was a pleasure being the Engineer of Record for this project, and working with the design team to bring this project to life! Great job team!
