Hi, I'm wondering if anyone following my page is a lawyer??? On October 4th, I was walking my dogs on leash near St-Felix and Third on the sidewalk when a dog escaped his yard and attacked. The dog went after Jade first, she was left with puncture wounds on her back. I was screaming, yelling, looking around for help. I turned around, Tie was pinned down by the neck. I pushed the dog off and picked him up. He was gasping for air, choking and hacking. I was blowing in his face and was saying his name to get him to breath. The dog kept jumping against me to get him. I kept kicking the dog off. Two neighbors came out and I have 2 other witnesses came, a driver and a walker who came running. They sprayed water, yelled and got the dog back in the yard. Owners weren't even home. I've had to take Tie in the vet 5 times, totalling just under $600. I can't rub his neck, he hacks, honks and put his head down. He coughs and gags when playing and when he's outside on his harness. I've had to put a front non-pull harness now. They also had given meds for exagerated swallowing, pulling his neck out. Symptoms have come back. Last consultations, she diagnosed him with collapse trachea and said to get barium contrast to see esophagus and flurospogy to examine trachea to get definite diagnosis of what's going on. She mentioned a bronchoscopy and esophagoscopy if needed. She sent a referral to the DMV in Montreal. He's got an appointment on Wednesday and the secretary quoted me just under $2000 for fluroscopy, barium contrast, xrays and consultation plus tax. They may recommend different testing, I don't know. I confronted the owner, who said he will not pay for anything. He was cold and had no compassion. By law was contacted right after the attack and this dog is now labeled vicious dog because they said it's not the first time. He was finned. Looking to pursue legal action. This whole situation has been so heartbreaking, my dogs never deserve this. I have cried so many tears and lost weight. I'm so scared about what my future holds with Tie. He's my baby. I'm lucky he's still alive. And now I have to deal with the the financial burden. This owner admitted his dog does not like other dogs. This has affected my dog walking, nail business. I'm more on guard and on edge. If you're dog is not good with others, please get training!!!! Check your gates/ fences to make sure it's impossible to open and stay outside with your dog. And if they attack, please be a responsible pet owner and pay the vet bills!!!!!
I will be taking holidays between Christmas and New years. My last day will be December 24th and returning date is January 6th. Please send me a message if you want to get your pets nails done before the holidays.
