How lucky am I to get to share the stage with this legend?!?
I wanted to take a moment to share my love for understudies, covers, and swings. This is my first show in many years in which I haven’t understudied any roles, and it feels downright luxurious!
Understudies are constantly working- in their heads, backstage, and at home. The huge responsibility of knowing your tracks(s) is not for the faint of heart.
Our INSANELY talented cast of Footloose begins their official understudy work today, and I feel so grateful for their (often silent and under appreciated) efforts.
To everyone out there covering right now, THANK YOU. The show wouldn’t be possible without you, you are AMAZING at what you do, and know that you are seen. 🫶🏻
When the goal of the company is to have a great show, it becomes easy to drop the ego and support your roles’ understudy by sharing! Share your knowledge, work together, and support each other!!
I feel very passionate about the language used around understudying- please remember that covers cover the ROLE. They are not YOUR understudy. It’s not about you, it’s about the show.

✨ We opened Footloose last night!!! ✨ What a beautiful and special night it was.
I had no idea how much I love this story.
Everyone in this world has pain- something that’s hard to talk about, something that makes them cry. This story explores the pain of grief, loss, and domestic abuse. Challenging topics that are still so prevalent worldwide.
I see parts of myself represented throughout the show, and am feeling incredibly grateful and blessed to be able to tell this important story.
Thanks to our fearless leaders and , who didn’t try to make this show sparkly. They made it real. Human. Heart-filled. Sincere. The sparkly bits come from our souls- collectively. It’s an honour to share the stage and tell this story with this cast, crew, and band.
