🚨 ALERT: Manitoba has declared a public health emergency due to a sharp rise in HIV cases across the province.

Here’s what’s happening:

• HIV cases in Manitoba have more than tripled in recent years
• The rise is being linked to intravenous drug use and unprotected s*x
• Indigenous communities, women, and people in rural and northern areas are being disproportionately affected
• Limited access to healthcare, stigma, poverty, and lack of education/resources are contributing to the growing crisis
• Recent reports also include babies being born with HIV through perinatal transmission

Preventive measures matter more than ever:
✔️ Get tested regularly
✔️ Practice safe s*x
✔️ Use clean needles/safe harm reduction services
✔️ Seek early treatment and support
✔️ Educate yourself and others
✔️ Fight stigma with compassion, not judgment

HIV is treatable, and early diagnosis can save lives. Awareness, prevention, and community support are essential. ❤️
