Life is so much about trust.

Because…
we will ultimately lose most of the people we become close to in our lifetime.

But maybe instead of loss…
Think of it as a collection of souvenirs. Special mementos you accumulate throughout your life.

It could be a best friend who moved away in the third grade. Or when your very first relationship ends in a break up.

It’s when you and college roommate (who you thought would be in your life forever) lose touch and you now only see her posts on social media.

And there is saying goodbye to the people who pass away.

Life can feel so heartbreaking and cruel when things come to an end… but we can take a small souvenir from each.

You might not be sure where your third grade best friend is now but you still have the memories of laughing with her until you both cried in the school cafeteria.

And with the high school relationship that ended so terribly that you never thought you would be over it….You did get over it. When you hear that song from 1999 it takes you back to the good moments you had together.
And…you took the lessons you learned to the next relationship when you were ready.

Then when you are sitting in a hospital squeezing the hand of a loved one who is taking their last breaths….thats when these memories become treasures. Because that is all you will have left. But they are priceless. And nobody can take them away.

And we keep going. With trusting hearts. Collecting these moments throughout our lives. Knowing new relationships may not be here during our entire journey but we keep meeting others regardless. Forming new friendships. Making new memories. That is trust.

So keep collecting those souvenirs.

Keep collecting these memories and lessons from the past. Each person may have been put in your life at the right time when you needed them most. And they are just a memory away.

Treasure your collection.
