one of the best things you can do during a session is be incredibly intentional with all your images. I’m talking about thinking EVERYTHING through. You cannot rely on just shooting and shooting and shooting and hoping something sticks.
You need to make sure all of your settings are correct for the lighting and subject AND mood of the session. Keep in mind your framing and be aware of what is being captured in your images. It is easier to take 10 seconds and move something rather than editing it out of multiple images.
Your future self will definitely be thanking you when it comes time to edit and you have done everything in your power to set yourself up for success.
P.S. If anyone wants to do a session at Fort Edmonton next summer, I would be so incredibly on board for that 😋

I had the honour of checking one of my dream creative sessions of my list and would absolutely love it if I could check off a few more this fall and winter.
I have a couple on my dream sessions save into a highlight on my page—if you see one that interests you, send me a message and let’s capture some magic.
These sessions will also be offered at a discounted rate for the first two people to book them.

With Halloween just around the corner, keep your eye open for some hooky spooky ghosts lurking around every corner, and in every cranny 👻

Let’s talk about growth as a photographer. When I first started out I was doing a lot of heavily posed, indoor shoots and attempted to do very minimal editing. I wasn’t at all happy with my work and had no cohesive look.
Fast forward to now and I know that not editing to match your style would be like if a painter left their canvas blank. I’ve also discovered my love for doing outdoor sessions!
I’ve grown so much but know I still have so much to learn and I cannot wait to compare my photos from now with my photos in a year.
