Excellent looking conference in Tempe Arizona in September 2024! Many of the speakers are those who have trained with Dimitriadis (like me!) (see https://www.hahnemanninstitute.com/tbrm-cert-grads).

Milk supply issues are a common reason for struggling with, or giving up, breastfeeding. Everyone should have the option to choose breastfeeding, if that is what they want to do. I often find it ironic how often people work to be politically correct and make sure they say people have the option to choose formula, and shouldn't be judged by that choice (I agree of course), but we don't always offer the same courtesy to those who want to breastfeed, but struggle. If women struggle, the phrase thrown around seems to be "formula is always a choice, and you won't be judged for it". If they want to breastfeed, free choice means they should have the support to do so - from work, family, and society in terms of access to lactation consultants and other professionals. And I see homeopathy as a potential part of this support - we have remedies (safe for a woman in the early postpartum and for infants) that help with stabilizing milk supply (decreasing it slightly if engorgement or over-supply is an issue) or increasing it if there is not enough. Homeopathy can also help from the babe's side if they are struggling with colic or other issues that can make nursing more challenging (my kid with colic would nurse for 3-4 hours a night without stopping - I kid you not! Definitely not conducive to a nice, comfortable breastfeeding experience for me! Treating him for colic made my breastfeeding experience much easier and more sustainable).

Homeopathy, combined with support from professionals who can adjust the latch etc (i.e. help with mechanical problems), can offer women who want to breastfeed a much easier and more sustainable experience.

For over supply, Pulsatilla, Belladonna and Phytolacca are some options, and for undersupply consider zinc, Agnus Castus or Dulcamara (if the undersupply was triggered by becoming ill). More details in my blog post this week on my website, and I have a video on rubrics in the TBR2 for milk supply issues for the homeopaths out there ❤
