I’d like to officially introduce the newest member of the team: Bodhi, Director of Emotional Support & Office Cuteness 🐾
His primary responsibilities include overseeing therapy notes from a cozy blanket, providing emotional support during long admin days, and scheduling mandatory play breaks!
Bodhi (Bo-Dee) is named after the Buddhist term meaning “awakening” or “enlightenment.” His mom has backpacked all over Asia and deeply values applying Buddhist principles to everyday life, making his name both incredibly fitting and very special.
Bodhi is looking forward to meeting some clients virtually during sessions if they are interested. 😉

Today marks the last day of celebrating National Social Work Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the impact of social work in our communities. 💛
Social workers show up every day in schools, hospitals, community agencies, correctional facilities, private practices, and more. Our work is rooted in compassion, advocacy, and a deep commitment to equity and social justice.
Being a social worker and therapist means witnessing resilience, holding space for growth, and supporting people as they navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. I am so grateful to be a social worker, to know and work alongside so many other great social workers, and for each opportunity I’ve had in this field.

Today we honor the children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities impacted. Wearing an orange shirt is a symbol that every child matters — but reconciliation is more than one day or one shirt. It’s about listening, learning, and taking action all year long to support healing, respect, and justice for Indigenous Peoples.
Together, we remember the past and commit to building a better future.

Travel has always been a valuable teacher in my life. Sitting by this sacred lake offered me a chance to pause, reflect, and find stillness in the midst of movement. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding month of travelling across five countries. I’m deeply grateful for the peace these moments by the water can bring—and I’m equally grateful for the meaningful work I get to soon return to. What a great feeling it is to love what you do. Excited to be in office next week and supporting the lovely clients I work with. 🤍🙏

A few of my favourite quotes in honour of mental health month 🧠✨

In honour of social work month, here are some important pieces of information relating to social work services, psychotherapy, and counselling. Many clients inquire about the difference between these terms and the differences between mental health professionals in the field. My hope is that this information is helpful. Please feel free to comment below or reach out for any other questions or curiosities.

Happy National Social Work Month! March is coming to an end and I’ve been reflecting on all of the challenging yet rewarding opportunities I’ve been afforded as a social worker. I’ve worked in residential treatment, foster care, the school board, applied behavioural analysis centres, community mental health and addiction services, in-patient treatment, a family health team, secure custody, several group practices, and now in my own practice. I am so very grateful for all of the incredible social workers I have met along the way. Don’t forget to thank a social worker this month. 🤍🙏
As the OASW is saying: “wherever you are, so are we.”

Leaving my full time position at the Homewood Health Centre in the TSICP-Guardians program this week has allowed me to reflect on all of the incredible people I have had the privilege of working alongside, as well as the amazing patients I was able to support through individual and group therapy. I have developed a great passion for supporting the FRMV population, and I will forever be grateful for my time there. I am so proud and so honoured to be able to continue supporting this population in my practice.
Helping those who help us is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.
