What I’ve learned from cleaning 500 homes that has nothing to do with cleaning!
But everything to do with people.
The fact that no matter how different the homes are — the stories inside them are almost always the same.
“We’ve just had a baby.”
“I’ve been struggling.”
“Work’s been non-stop.”
Overwhelmed wears different outfits.
Sometimes it’s unopened mail.
Sometimes it’s a sink full of dishes.
Sometimes it’s a guest room that’s quietly been off-limits for months.
And the person answering the door always says the same thing:
“Sorry it’s such a mess.”
But it’s not the mess they’re sorry for.
It’s the feeling of being behind.
That’s what cleaning really is.
Not wiping down surfaces.
It’s helping people feel like they’ve caught up.
