Art & Literacy is an inclusive community art class for preschoolers to explore and connect art and literacy together.

Art & Literacy starts tomorrow at 10am
Register today

Each class we will read a children’s book and create an art project based on the book. We will learn to use and respect various art materials.
In this class you can expect:
❤️ Listening to a short book that will be related to the artwork we will create.
❤️ Often the book will have a lesson involved and or relevant to something to the children’s current reality (like a book about pumpkins in fall)
❤️ An introduction to different art supplies
❤️ At this age, children learn through play and exploration.
❤️ This is an inclusive space for children to be children
❤️ Children connecting various concepts and lessons that become practical through art
❤️ There is a huge difference between artwork that a 2 year old and a 6 year old makes, the expectations are introductory and explorative.
❤️ Your Inclusive community art instructor (me!) is also an ECE!
You can prepare your child for attending art classes at this young age by giving them lots of opportunity for play, big gross motor movements and small fine motor play every day!
This class has a special place in my heart because it was the first class I hosted in 2019 and since then I’ve become an ECE and get to do this kind of thing in my classroom often!
