Grand River Cane Rods

A collection of Grand River Cane Rods.

Filing nodes on some new Grand River Cane Rods in the shop on this snowy Guelph morning. I prefer using a file rather than some mechanical sanding device because I feel it gives me more control over the process. Eventually, careful node work ends up with the perfect presentation featured on the finished cane rod.

Preparing some new Grand River Cane Rods for the spring trout season. It all starts with some nicely flamed, carmel-colored split culms, with the next step, removing the nodal dams with a rounded, razor sharp chisel.
